Social Studies with Psychology (Applied Social Studies) – 5M2181 (412756)
Course description
This one year* programme, validated by QQI will introduce you to the theory and practice of the key areas of social studies and social care. This is the ideal starting point if you wish to progress to further studies or gain employment.
This course will equip students with the basic skills to work in community agencies such as community and voluntary organisations, family resource centres, youth organisations*This is a daytime course (Monday – Friday), school hours, from Mid-September to April (8 months).
Work Placement
Work experience is a core element of this program and we will assist you to secure work experience. Many Graduates obtain employment as a result of their work experience placement.
Entry requirements
QQI L4 or equivalent for all Level 5 courses.
If the Leaving Certificate has been completed, details should be submitted with your application.
Mature learners may be exempt from the academic requirements.
First round offers will be made in May to all eligible applicants with subsequent offers made in September.
