Mullingar Community College Uniform Policy

The MCC uniform plays a crucial role in establishing and maintaining the college’s identity. It fosters among students a shared sense of belonging, a visual representation of a shared equality and a shared purpose and fosters traits of mutual caring and respect. It also contributes to setting an appropriate tone, instils a sense of pride, ensures students of all races and backgrounds feel welcome and protects adolescents from external pressures to dress in a particular way.

Having reviewed the current uniform it is deemed by the Board of Management to be practical, comfortable and represents value for money for families. It is judged that the current requirements do not disadvantage any student in his/her education because of their family’s financial situation. If the College management becomes aware of any such disadvantage they may decide to offer assistance if necessary.

While wearing the school uniform, within the school and outside the school grounds, students are expected to behave in a manner consistent with the standards set by Mullingar Community College.
